Piracy Questions

    Most of the work was originally ours, we used some music clips from the GarageBand site. We used under 30 seconds of it, so it is not illegal. If we would have used more than 30 seconds we would have been illegally using the clips. As long as you site where you get the information from, and you site it correctly it is okay to use. Or if for example, it is a song you want to use you need permission from the artist you would like to take the song from.
   Downloading music is not wrong when you have received permission from the legal owner of that music to download it, or you have bought it legally off iTunes.com, this site allows you to buy a song and listen to it without illegally downloading it.
   Copyright laws should exist because then people everywhere would be ruining careers for many artists. Taking an artists song and illegally downloading it is wrong, so laws should be in place to keep things in order about illegally downloading music. If you had a really good song that was all your own and wanted to make profit off it and try to start a career, would you want people illegally downloading it and ruining your chance of letting the world know your talent? Think about that before you steal their music.
    Pirating is so prevalent in our society because everyone thinks they won't get caught or it doesn't matter because it is not hurting anyone. But they don't understand it is hurting someone, it's hurting that artists career because they are not receiving the profits they deserve off that music. Not many people understand that just because you most likely will not get caught does not make it okay for you to repeatedly do it.

     If someone used my podcast without my permission I would be very upset because that is mine and my groups original work and we put a lot of time, thought, and effort into that. That was our own creative ideas behind that. Someone taking that from us would take away the value in that work. My group worked very hard on it and someone taking our work and doing with it what they please would take away the talent behind all of it. This is all our talent, hope you enjoy!! Piracy Podcast
